About Pure Talent Contest:
The hosting of the Pure Talents Contest at imm cologne 2018 will mark the fifteenth year for one of the most internationally renowned design competitions for young designers – the starting point for a successful design career for many of the chosen participants.
The Pure Talents Contest is conceived exclusively for designers who are still pursuing their studies or have just left university. The competition, organized by Koelnmesse on the occasion of imm cologne, offers with the exhibition of the chosen participants a first step into the interior design business and furthermore awards prizes for the best three products in the competition.
Pure Talent Contest Eligibility:
Entries are sought from design students and young designers from around the world who have gained their degree not more than three years ago, with a graduation date after 1 January 2014.
Applications will also be accepted from groups consisting of a maximum of three people which have to be named upon entry in the competition.
Eligible for the pre-selection are products from the interiors sector, including:
- Furniture;
- Home accessories;
- Lighting;
- Flooring;
- Wallpaper and textiles;
- Kitchen and kitchen accessories;
- Smart Home.
Submitted designs should have been produced within the last 12 months.
Pure Talent Contest Benefits:
All the products included in the exhibition will be on display from 15 to 21 January 2018 at imm cologne 2018. All selected participants will receive the Pure Talents Contest Nominee label. During the trade show, a total of 6,000 EUR will be awarded in prize money, of which:
- 3,000 EUR are reserved for the 1st Prize;
- 2,000 EUR for the 2nd prize;
- 1,000 EUR for the third.
The Pure Talents Contest, was formerly known as the [D3] Contest.
Over the last fourteen years all in all 416 products from 518 designers from all around the world have been shown in the exhibition.
Pure Talent Contest Selection Process:
The winners of the awards will be determined by an internationally well known jury, which consists of the following design experts:

• Tobias Lutz (Managing Director and Founder Architonic AG, Zurich)
• Sebastian Herkner (Designer, Offenbach)
